Interior looks nice, is that all new?
Rats on the engine because that should have been bulletproof.
I still drive BJesus every day but less than 4000 miles or so total by now. Near disaster with coolant hoses but it failed in the driveway. All new suspension bushings by now and still intermittent icu issues. Put a new load sensing brake valve after using without for a long time, they actually do something. Very useful but working on it for improvement goes to the back burner mostly. Still leaks in the rain, etc. wish list would be a nice interior for it and new seals for gear line.

Got the interior from a guy on Craigslist who had them professionally recovered, then he decided to turn his car into a track racer and gutted it. Seats and door cards had been sitting in his attic for a bit.

Yeah engine has been strong other than the water pump going out. Bearing inside it completely trashed. Too bad it happened in McAlester, OK on a Sunday night during game 6 of the World Series. Got a hotel for the night, $350 Uhaul in the morning 5hr tow to get it home. Had to drive the bus for the month of Nov while the head was at the machine shop and me doing the labor on above 30degree days.

Hi Brian! Hope all is well in your Memphis neighborhood. It's cold up here, ice storm on us right now. My shit is all tucked away in the garage. Pulled a few of the old VWs out in the last week and ran them for 20 minutes or so. Too much salt down now to go driving.

Bill

All is well, tons of work to the house repainting and floor conversion. It did get to 50 and misty here but no salt or ice. I feel the pain without missing it. Here are the coaches Christmas week.
We did not do Hell's Revenge or any Moab in the bus but we did do Natchez Trace (NATR) last summer.
ps They both sleep six...imagine that.

Got this bike rack after long time planning a project to make a bolt on replacement for the Euro swan neck ball on the Westfalia hitch.
We got the idea to search for a hitch adapter that bolts in place of the swan neck. Then found the racks that fits the ball. Guess what they are pretty cheap in Europe. Amazon has 1 for nearly $400 here in the US. So I found a UK site that ships to US. Ordered on a Monday and got it on Wednesday, 2 days fast and 30% of the Amazon cost. Go DHL or blind shipping from a US depot...whatever.
It's rock solid,10#s and won't move in any direction. No slop, no wiggle like square tube receiver types.
The bikes together are 50#s and it actually improved the handling of the bus around 400 miles so far.
