Post Re: New guy from O'Fallon
Thanks guys, glad to be here and look forward to meeting everyone and seeing their VW's.

widehatch,
Maybe just a little bit of a dick, but no hard feelings. Actually I would have been disappointed if nobody gave me any crap about cutting up a classic car. I figured it was just some new guy ball busting, it's all good.

Manx1173,
I actually help put on the Easter Car Show in the lower Muny parking lot on Easter Sunday. Would love to see you guys out there, I'm hoping to have the front end installed by then.

Welcome Tom! Mike D in Wentzville here

Nice looking ride you have there, but I can't wait to see a Volks-Rod around town. Looking forward to cruising in the season!

I wouldn't say bright red, but it's definitely more red in person than those photos. It was on Craigslist in the Oct/Nov time frame.

Here are some shots of the '65 VW and the Cobra replica we built. The '47 and the '32 were covered, so I didn't get any shots of them, maybe next time.

Thanks. The '47 is beautiful, the '32 is nice as well, but it hasn't moved in 20 years or so. Once the weather turns nice and stays nice we're going to get some good shots of the '47.

Sorry, haven't been on here in a while. The car took quite a bit longer to get back on the road than I had anticipated, but I guess that's how it usually works out. All 4 corners were rusted out, but the previous owner did a fantastic job of hiding everything under a lot of fiberglass. If only he had used that time to fix it properly I would've had a solid car to start with. I had the heater channels and firewall replaced. Most of the remaining rust is cosmetic. Pulled the engine last week and am in the process of cleaning it up, transmission is next. Still have a long way to go, but it's been a fun project. Here are a couple of shots (the second one the rear wheel was photoshopped in):

I've accumulated a pile of parts that are slowly taking over my garage. I need to start getting rid of some stuff. I'll start a post in the classified section.
Tom
