Post Joe and CaliBug
Hey everyone, just found out about your site after someone left a "tag" under my windshield while I was at Bob Evans...any who, I live in Wentzville right now, and have been messin with VW since i was about 15. First car was a 73 Super, and I'm happy to say I built my first car. Been into the VW scene ever since.
Recently (Aug2010) i got a 74 standard from a guy in Morse Mill, and that has been my main project. Took my original built 1600 I had in my 73 Super and tore it down and re-built it to a 1776 w/Dual 34ICTs, and c25 cam, and put it in the 74, which is now shares the driving time with my other DD. Just waiting for that weather to warm up now so i can get some more miles on it.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys and talking VWs.

Dont make fun of the front fender gap...I just got new tires and rims and lowering the front is my next project :)

Um...kinda...some tool painted it with a paint brush...im thinking about striping off the bad paint to get to the OG, but my girlfriend wants a new shiny paint job. we'll see what happens.
But yeah most of this bug is original due to it being in California for so long. So rust repair will be minimal.

aaaaaand I'm back.
For anyone that remembers, I had to accompany the then fiance to SoCal while she completed her Veterinarian education. Well, it's four years later and we are back. Still have CaliBug ('74 Standard), still have Galdalf ('76 Westy), and added a 2011 GTI to the stable.
I look forward to meeting up again and getting back into the Midwest scene.

...I'm a biker now...this is my bike hauler :P
