Post Buses By the Bridge 2013 Lake Havasu City, AZ
Just wanted to share some photos of the BBB XVII weekend.
Was a great bus show and I highly recommend it to youz all. It reminded me of BNNTA but on a larger scale...same "Bus" focused show and of course camping with much of the same friendly comraderie and interesting folks as well as buses to oogle at...except most of the buses are really dry and preserved

They had tons of raffle prize goodies including a free transaxel rebuild and a 1776cc balanced and dyno'd turn key engine 88hp and 140lbs torque...turned out Skeeter from Gilbert, AZ won it...I just met him last week and got to see his house and bus collection while there getting measurements and pics from Wade's 63 turtis w/t (Kommercial on samba and who runs dropgates.com) for the vinyl wraps I just made for my bus.

I was told that 340 vehicles were registered but it included 20-30 RV's and other camping vessels so roughly 300 buses in attendance. In my estimation it was fairly evenly spread between splits, bays and vanagons.

Some of the highlights were "Walter" the giant deluxe bus based on a firetruck chassis and it's cousin "Big Red" a larger than life full fendered baja with an air cooled turbo charged industrial engine. Saw an OG paint & interior 55 sunroof standard PG/SG bus, a highroof sales flap bus, pressed bumper buses galore, campers, tent trailers and aparently lots of trucks...singles, doubles...judging by how many of my pics were of the trucks has me wondering what my next VW might be....

Met & patried with some interesting people like Hayden from Pennsylvania on a road trip acroos the country in his bay westy...he made up some funny ass songs about his bus perils. Green Gene was an eccentric guy with a cool double cab and an eco friendly attitude. Daniele from the Flaggstaff KOA was a darling to camp next to. Kirk the owner of Walter & the pristine VW panel firetruck delivered from VW in Primer...Grund? The list of great people I met goes on and on...some I might never remember and others I'll never forget 8)

The best part of the weekend was getting to hang with some Missouri friends for the event. Blake and Kevin met up with Greg in New Mexico and piled into Gregs bus with 3-dogs on a roadtrip to Los Angeles, CA to retrive some bus parts. Great times! And Greg even got to drive Big Red.

So I'm now sunburnt, windburnt and super tired but it was all worth it.
Enjoy the pics y'all!

The show looks awsome. We will have to bring the bus out when it is done.

That is a good pic of what i want to do with mine.
