Post Anybody do transmission work?
I am looking for someone who does trans work to replace my 4th gear. I am trying to figure out if it is more cost effective to just buy a new trans or replace my 4th gear?

I'm not sure, but Al Shelton "used" to do trannies, maybe he still does? But most folks just order up whole units all rebuilt from Rancho Transaxles out in California.

Post Re: Anybody do transmission work?
Hey Bill ! Yah I was thinking about getting a freeway flyer trans. I was just curious if I could get this 4th gear swapped out because this trans was built at AZ Transaxle and only has 1000 miles on it. The only problem is that it is geared for 1/4 mile racing not cruising on the highway. If anybody out there is building a drag car and needs a transmission and has a stock one to swap maybe we can make a trade? That is if I end up keeping the 58. I want a bus and have the 58 up for sale or trade for a bus.

Joey, at Dead End Aircooled, in West Tulsa, does transmissions/RGB's around here
is a bit Far from StL, but he learnt the trade from the late Bill Shanks, so he does good work.

Then you might contact Al Shelton at (636) 398-5934 (home line) and chat with him about that. He builds many of the race cars around here and may know of someone interested in that trade.

Ross's in Lemay does all the transaxles for Archway and he does a darn good job too. I would suggest him.
