Post Firm pedal, Brakes suck
I'm having a problem that I've never encountered before and it has me kinda of stumped. My Single Cab has new(ish) brake components all around and I've gone through all the standard stuff like bleeding, push rod, adjusted shoes (brake pads), etc. yet my brakes SUCK. I have a stiff pedal with the correct amount of play, but when I go to brake it's as if the shoes are not making firm contact with the drums. But as far as I can tell they ARE making contact but the needed friction to stop just isn't there. I have no idea what's going on. Any ideas?

Recently I've replaced all the braking components from the master to the cylinders. There doesn't appear to be any sort of leak on the brake side of things. The shoes appear to have some wear, but not to the point where they need replaced.

I started pulling of my drums to do a little more investigating and found that one of my rear reduction boxes has a tiny leak so the interior of the drum has some tranny fluid lubricating the drum/pad. Tomorrow I'll hit the parts store, get the leak fixed and clean everything up and reassembled. I think I'll go ahead and replace all the pads while I'm in there.
