Post Carburetor idle port - Idle Solenoid
I have a 30PICT2 that does not idle well. I have had to screw the idle speed screw in to get enough gas to idle. The idle mixture screw has no effect moving it in or out. The idle solenoid does click so I can only assume it is working. Is there a good way to know if it really is allowing gas for idle or something else is plugged up? I hear about folks cutting off the end of the solenoid so it would never block the flow.

If I have the solenoid on the work bench and put power and ground to it will it move far enough for me to see that it is working? What about blowing air into the solenoid hole to blow out crud?

The solenoid moves enough to see.
Tearing the carb apart and soaking it / blowing out all the passages is an easy afternoon job. Might as well do it.
