Post Steering Box
I picked up another new steering box at Mid America Bug Fest. Installed it yesterday. Now I have good tight steering. My question: Am I supposed to fill it with gear oil? It has two plugs in the top that pop out. I have the oil, 90 weight.
Thanks,
Dan

thats what I run in my '63. I only have one plug though. My box is in good shape but the bottom seal does leak a lot. Don't mess with the adjusting screw.

Supposedly the new TRW boxes (with the two plastic plugs) are pre-lubed.

Maybe what I pumped in it won't hurt.

I'm sure it won't, maybe I should do the same. I was going to have a look inside, but I pried around on the plugs a little and didn't see a way to remove them without a massacre.
