Post Info on camping in Springfield, IL???
Anyone know of a nice, reasonable campground in or very near Springfield, IL that they've used in the past?

Although we haven't spent the night in Springfield, IL we use RV Parky http://www.rvparky.com/search?l=Springf ... -89.650148 for overnight stops. Past that you could try something like http://www.uscampgrounds.info/ for a more secluded adventure.

freecampsites.net is another good source for camping spots. There are free and pay sites listed on there, GPS coordinates to help find them and reviews from other people. Lots of bus and rv travelers use it.

Just to update you all, we decided to stay at a KOA campground a little southeast of the city of Springfield in our '87 Westfalia. Nice enough place, we had a "power site" near their pool for $28 a night. We spend the visit finally visiting the various major "Lincoln" venues that we kept passing by and both of us had a great time. The Lincoln Presidential Library and especially his Presidential Museum were awesome, don't miss 'em! His tomb in the north part of town is quite impressive and rather moving too.
