Post Rick Rahmberg has a new powerplant...
I heard that Rick R. picked up his SO-42 Westfalia Campmobile from our friend, enthusiast and local retired VW dealership mechanic Pat Hoffman the other day. Pat is now working out of his shop SW of St. Louis. Pat had to completely restore/rebuilt that 1600cc engine after Rick toasted his old motor on the way to the 2015 MAM Funfest a few months ago. Almost all new or used but new-to-that-motor parts, not much was re-used from the old beat-to-shit motor. Has anyone heard from Rick since he took delivery? Perhaps he's still out breaking-in his new engine with a shit-eating grin on his face?

Bill

I'll ring him up tomorrow and see how the old 66 is running now! He's living down to in my neck of the woods now. Just bought a new house in south county.

Checked in with Rick. He says the Westy is running great, smooth and quiet. It is currently parked in his new garage ( the first time Rick has ever parked it in a garage!)

I wish we had a photo of his smiling face when he took delivery (not his face when he got the bill). All we have to do now is train him to pay attention to those (now fully functioning) "idiot" warning lights!

We're all a work in progress!
