Picked up this '60 SWR panel a few weeks ago. Had stopped by and inquired about it a few times down in SW MO.
Finally got a call so Caroline went and grabbed it back on memorial day weekend

Nice Panel D!

Took "Das Box" for weekend adventuring yesterday just outside of Silex. My buddy's Grandma owns over 130 acers. Wound up camping in a huge field last night...

Thanks again to Roy Jonas for helping to make this Beast a Beauty again.

Had a little incident a few years ago.

I myself would love to hear an update on the Mr. Jonas and his household. I know he is working hard on the ABC raffle Bus, but what else could he be up to out West in the frontierland?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I drove the '60 panel around the hood the other day. First time it's moved under its own power in ??long ass time is all I know.

Picked it up on memorial day weekend and have been slowly replacing all of the brakes, bearings, tires, got a nice little sp motor for it,etc

Sorry, just saw Bill called me out so here goes:
Lately I've not done much with my VW's but I have been thrashing on the Jerome Jamboree raffle bus since February. It's a 62 double door panel and needed all the typical metalwork but should be painted by next weekend giving us almost 2-weeks to put it back together  I raised my hand to be the RB manager this year and it's dejavu of the last two months I spent in MO thrashing every spare moment on an old bus. Anyway, it's fun to see all the generous folks contributing time, money and parts to a bus being raffled off for charity.

Other than the raffle bus I've been enjoying many of the southwest VW events, visiting lots of Arizonas scenic areas, playing with our grandkids and maintaining our vehicles. We also bought a house in Chandler, AZ in October that has kept me fairly busy with pool and yard work lately. Dawn is completely finished with med school and is waiting on board exam results. Meanwhile she left Tuesday for a month long voluntary internship in northern CA. She has a residency lined up that starts in October and we will all need to refer to her as "Dr Jonas" from now on. Will be nice to have a second income again after the last four years of just my salary.

Miss all my VW brothers and sisters in MO and think about you all everyday
Was hoping to get back to MO for BNNTA but it's just not in the cards for me this year
Tried to upload a few pictures but were all to large and I can't figure out how to resize them on my schmancy new iPhone....

No sweat Roy, the Calvary is coming to you. Shawn and I will be winging our way out there in a couple of weeks to join in on the last couple days of the "thrash" on the JJ Bus, and then we expect to get plowed with adult beverages on the side of a mountain somewhere north of you in beautiful Arizona. Oh my! I think I can see Sedona from here. And pink elephants and purple alligators too! Party hats "on".

Das Box finally has fog lights. Wired up an old set of Carello PF160's I scored years ago off a dune buggy at B&C in Freeburg. White covers are not correct for the model of light, but look kewl none the less.

Got this really kewl Bosch single pull light up switch off Summit in case anyone needs a sweet accessory switch for something.

Cool, I could use a nice switch for my fog lights but I'm not willing to drill a hole in the split window dash to do it. Right now my switch is ziptied in under the dash behind my wiper switch, only I know where it is cause you can't see it. I don't use the fog lights that much anyway.
